Branvaragh

Where the winds first whispered Glanvaria’s name.

Branvaragh isn’t just a town—it’s a legend carved in salt and stone. Perched on the storm-swept southwestern coast, it was here that Caelivar first set foot in Glanvaria. Some say he was guided by fate. Others say by Dragan himself.

From jagged cliffs to bustling docks, Branvaragh balances ancient magic and chaotic trade. It’s the soul of the kingdom’s maritime life and the heart of its wildest celebrations. The tides bring new faces and forgotten ghosts, while old sailors swear the sea remembers every name whispered to it.

“This is where Glanvaria began.”

What You’ll Find in Branvaragh

The Drunken Clover – Half pub, half legend. The rowdiest week of the year begins here.

Dragan’s Temple – A wind-battered shrine teetering on a cliff. Reach it if you dare.

Saltglass Alley – Trinket market. Poetry brawls. Glittering glass in the cobblestones.

Tide Market – Fresh seafood. Sea-glass talismans. Hama’ranu fruit (if you arrive in time). Pickpockets. You’ve been warned.

Branvaragh Inn – Sea views, Irish roots, and fish & chips that might make a god weep.

Local Flavor

  • Sanu’lono Tamu (Tide Stew): Cod, shrimp, mussels, and the unknown.
  • Pila’pila: Fisherman’s bread & butter—sacred and salty.
  • Tama’pila: Shrimp & fire-grain cakes, for snacking between drinks.

  • Stormbringer Mead: Honeyed, salted, and spiced with fire pepper. Toast: To the deep!

Notable Folk

Seamus Flanagan – Barkeep of the Drunken Clover, descendant of Irish settlers, and part-time therapist to pirates, prophets, and possibly even Dragan himself.

Thessa Tidebound – Storm-priestess of Dragan. Rarely seen in town, but when she speaks, the room falls silent—even the sea quiets down.

Dragan’s Tide

Each spring, Branvaragh descends joyfully into chaos for Dragan’s Tide, a storm-swept celebration of the sea and the unknown. What begins as a respectful toast often becomes a reckless pilgrimage—cliffside offerings, songs shouted to the wind, and mugs of Stormbringer Mead lifted high as the waves crash below. For six days, the town forgets fear—and remembers Dragan.

Lore & Legends

The Ghost Ship

Drifting silently through Branvaragh Bay on moonless nights, its crew pale and waterlogged, yet laughing and waving as if they’d never drowned. Though they pose no threat, those who witness the vessel speak of a deep unease—even the ship glides against the current as if it had forgotten it sank.

The Morovath

The Morovath, a monstrous sea-beast with barbed tentacles and an ancient vendetta against the King of Glanvaria, is said to dwell in the depths beyond Branvaragh’s shores. Though feared for its cunning and destruction, one infamous night it rose from the sea not to strike—but to drink. The sailors of Branvaragh claim they out-drank the beast until it slumped back into the deep, defeated by ale and audacity. Whether truth or tall tale, the Morovath hasn’t tried since.

Farewell from Branvaragh

If you’re leaving, you won’t be the same.
The salt stays in your hair. The rhythm of the waves in your steps.
And the stories? Oh, they cling to you like sea mist.

To the deep.
