A traveler’s companion through the Eternal Kingdom — where stone endures, seas whisper, fields flourish, and harmony binds us all.

Hilda the Yak

“Don’t look her in the eye. That’s how she gets you.”Farmer Finn, every market day before noon

Who is Hilda?

Hilda the Yak is no myth. She’s a presence. A walking institution with a fan base, a grudge list, and possibly a passport. She hails from Nava’tano Vale but walks the kingdom like she owns it—because, depending on who you ask, she kind of does.

Tales from the Yak Trail

The Battle of Market Square

Hilda confronted a group of foreign merchants who attempted to cheat local traders. No fatalities were reported. One fish stall, however, was never the same.

The Great Tavern Siege

When The Drunken Clover ran dry, Hilda stood in the doorway until fresh barrels appeared. She did not moo. She simply waited. The barkeep cried.

The Stormbringer’s Companion

On certain stormy nights, she is seen standing beside Dragan’s Temple on the cliffs. Unmoving. Watching. Some say she guards something. Others say she simply enjoys the wind.

The Trial of Herbert Bellingham

A foreign trader once assumed he knew about the yaks of Nava’tano Vale. His hearing soon became a reckoning. Hilda arrived, uninvited, stared down Herbert without blinking for twelve hours straight. With a final snort, the judgment was clear. He was sentenced to ten years of service at the yak manure plant. Hilda’s verdict was never spoken—but it was undeniable.

Hilda’s Legacy

Her milk sells for more than gold in Velthryn. Her image is printed on everything from banners to bread wrappers. Scholars debate her origin. Poets describe her movements as “hoofed diplomacy.” Hilda belongs to no one—and inspires everyone.
